Wizz Air is said to be in negotiations with Airbus about placing a fresh aircraft order. The Hungarian low-cost carrier is expected to place an order for at least 100 Airbus planes.
Negotiations between Wizz Air and Airbus over the new aircraft deal began some months ago and “continued over the summer,” according to industry sources.
However, as stated in the newspaper dated September 9, 2021, the parties are not yet ready to formally disclose the agreement.
According to Planespotters.net data, Wizz Air now has 145 aircraft in its fleet, with an average age of 5.1 years.
The Hungarian airline only runs Airbus aircraft: 76 Airbus A321s, 68 Airbus A320s, and one Airbus A330.
Wizz Air has 388 aircraft orders, according to Airbus orders and deliveries data.
