As seen from a Cathay Pacific Boeing 777 flying over the South China Sea, a video has emerged on social media claiming to show an apparent missile launch, presumably from a submarine.
On Tuesday, a pilot for Allegiant Air in the United States and a veteran of the US Navy’s submarine community posted the video below online.
“They were over the South China Sea & were issued a last-minute hectic call from ATC: ‘turn left 90 degrees immediately!!,’” according to one Tweet accompanying the video.
At this time, it’s unclear when or where the video was filmed, and it’s difficult to verify independently.
A fellow Airline Pilot friend just sent me this from one of his colleagues at a foreign airline. There do not appear to be any apparent Notices to Airmen (NOTAM) or other images pertaining to recent missile or rocket launches in the region.
