On March 25, 2023, United Airlines began operating daily nonstop flights between Newark Liberty International Airport (EWR) and Dubai International Airport (DXB).
The route is a part of the United Emirates’ agreement to expand its network, which was unveiled in a press conference in September 2022.
Customers of United can travel to more than a hundred destinations via Dubai.
Customers of Emirates will benefit from easy access to more than 200 American cities through the United’s network in exchange.

United Airlines is now the first American airline since 2016 to offer direct flights to the United Arab Emirates. 15 years ago, United began operating flights to the UAE. The airline stopped operating in 2016, citing Emirates’ overcapacity.
The United B777 will fly the direct, 13.5-hour journey according to the following schedule:
UA 164 departs Newark 22:15 local time, arrives in Dubai 19:40 local time the following day
UA 163 departs Dubai 02:15 local time, arrives in Newark 09:05 local time
“At United, we’re committed to expanding and enhancing our network to give our customers the best access to destinations around the world – all while having a best-in-class travel experience,” Patrick Quayle, United’s senior vice president of global network planning and alliances said in a statement.
“Our new service between New York/Newark and Dubai, along with our new partnership with Emirates and flydubai, makes it even easier for customers to travel to Dubai or connect to any of the hundred destinations offered by our partners across Africa, the Middle East, and Asia,” Quayle added.
