The brand-new Airbus A350-900 aircraft of ITA Airways flew its first test flight in ITA’s blue livery. The maiden flight took occurred at Airbus’ Toulouse headquarters.
The new A350-900 will join the airline’s fleet in June 2022, according to ITA. The planes will fly between Rome Fiumicino Airport (FCO) and Los Angeles, Buenos Aires, Sao Paulo, and Tokyo on new intercontinental routes.
“The arrival of the flagship aircraft will enable the company to offer modern, environment-friendly aircraft featuring cutting-edge technology,” the airline outlined in a statement.

According to ITA, the new aircraft will enable the carrier expand its intercontinental network while also supporting the airline’s environmental goals.
