Thailand’s long-awaited reopening has finally arrived! International travelers who are fully vaccinated can fly into Thailand with no quarantine as of November 1; all they need is one night in an approved hotel while waiting for Covid test results.

Here’s everything you need to know about participating in the Test & Go a Sandbox program, or Alternative Quarantine.

More things to know about the Thailand reopening:

Travelers under the age of 12 do not need confirmation of vaccination, but they must be accompanied by fully vaccinated parents or guardians and produce a negative RT-PRC Covid-19 test within 72 hours of departure.

Try it out and see what happens (no quarantine or Blue Zone required) Participants must remain in a SHA+ (or AQ) hotel for one night, wait for the arrival test results to come back negative, and then travel around Thailand and stay wherever they like.

Participants in the Blue Zone must stay in a SHA+ hotel for seven nights. If their arrival test results are negative after the first night, they are allowed to travel within their Blue Zone area for the rest of the week. They are free to move around the country and stay wherever they like when their second test results come back negative.

Arrivals in Thailand under the Test & Go and Blue Zone programs must have spent at least 21 days in their home country before arriving in Thailand. This does not apply to Thai nationals or foreign legal residents of Thailand who traveled there from Thailand.

All mandatory Covid-19 tests must be pre-paid and should be included in your hotel reservation. Testing will take place in your SHA+ or AQ hotel or at external testing locations when you arrive.

To participate in the Blue Zone program, you must fly into Bangkok Suvarnabhumi or Don Mueng, Chiang Mai, Phuket, Koh Samui, and U-Tapao, as well as Buriram’s international airports (currently available to chartered flights only)

Thailand Pass is an application that generates a one-of-a-kind QR code showing that you have all of the necessary papers to enter Thailand. It takes 3 to 5 days for approval, so apply at least 7 days before your flight.

Due to the fact that the Thailand Pass website did not go live until November 1, COEs will be accepted for admission for arrivals in November. Those who qualify for Test & Go will receive a reimbursement for their second Covid test as well as 6 nights of hotel accommodation if they wish it.
