Tap Air Portugal A320neo collides with a motorcycle on a runway

A motorcycle was hit by an Airbus A320neo belonging to Tap Air Portugal as it landed at Conakry International Airport (CKY) in the Republic of Guinea, West Africa.

TAP Air Portugal’s Airbus A320neo, with registration number CS-TVI, is the aircraft that was involved in the incident.

On September 2, 2022, flight TP-1492 departed from Lisbon (LIS), Portugal, and arrived at the final destination at about 11:40 p.m.

A motorcyclist tried to cross the runway as the plane was coming in to land. The motorcycle and the aircraft’s right engine collided. The motorcycle’s rider and another person died.

According to media sources, both the driver and the passenger were airport workers.

The accident is being looked into by the Guinean Civil Aviation Authority (AGAC).
