Swoop welcomed its inaugural flight to Orlando Sanford International Airport on October 9. The debut flight of the ultra-low-cost airline took off from Toronto Pearson International Airport at 8:00 a.m. EST and arrived safely at 11:00 a.m. local time.
The maiden flight marked the start of the ultra-low-cost carrier’s first of four new nonstop services to Orlando Sanford International Airport. Additional nonstop service to Orlando Sanford is planned to begin in the future months from Hamilton, ON, Winnipeg, MB, and Edmonton, AB.
Swoop’s Head of Flight Operations, Shane Workman, was joined by Tom Nolan, President of Sanford Airport Authority, and Elizabeth Brown, President & CEO, Sanford Internal Inc., for an inaugural ceremony upon landing at Sanford International Airport to commemorate this new route. In-flight refreshments and gifts were also provided to passengers.
