Qatar Airways has issued the following statement:
On Friday, April 1, the world’s eyes will be on Qatar for the Final Draw of the 22nd FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022TM, which will see all 32 teams grouped for the flagship tournament.
Starting at 19:00, the much-anticipated ceremony will take place at the Doha Exhibition and Convention Centre (Doha time).
A delegation from Qatar Airways’ senior management will be present at the Final Draw to share the thrill with several former champions of the prestigious competition who will be in attendance.
Qatar Airways Group Chief Executive, His Excellency Mr. Akbar Al Baker, said: “What was once a dream is now a reality. Many world-class footballers will be present to play their part in deciding who will face who in this year’s FIFA World Cup™ in Qatar.”
Qualified teams will be divided into four pots based on the latest FIFA Men’s World Ranking, with 29 of the 32 players confirmed at the time of the Final Draw. Three placeholders will be in pot four, representing the winners of the two intercontinental playoffs and the European play-off champion, who will be selected in June.

The event will be conducted in eight world-class stadiums that are inspired by various Arabian cultural emblems. The Al Bayt Stadium, which has a capacity of 60,000 seats, will host the tournament’s opening match, while Lusail Stadium, which has a capacity of 80,000 seats, will host the tournament’s final event.
