A man reportedly threatened a passenger by pointing a razor blade to her neck on a JetBlue flight from JFK to Salt Lake City.

A 41-year-old Utahn man was eventually revealed to be the suspect.

The female passenger and the male passenger were conversing. But when he saw that she had put on headphones and was back to viewing her movie, he instructed her to stop.

She moved from his window seat to the aisle, trying to get away from the inebriated man. According to Aero World, the woman was traveling with her husband, who asked a flight attendant for assistance.

JetBlue confirmed the incident saying, “On Monday, JetBlue flight 871 had a customer onboard that began acting erratically and threatening toward other customers near the end of the flight.

Crewmembers responded by working to de-escalate the situation and notified law enforcement, who met the flight in Salt Lake City. The safety of our customers and crewmembers is JetBlue’s first priority, and we will support law enforcement during their investigation.”

The weapon was later discovered to be a Facon wood-handled straight-edge razor and the passenger was issued federal charges the following day.
