The president of the United States, Joe Biden, has chosen a new paint scheme for the “Next Air Force One,” VC-25B, that more closely resembles the livery of the existing Air Force One, VC-25A, while also updating the appearance for the twenty-first century.
The VC-25B livery differs significantly from the VC-25A livery in three key ways while accommodating the larger 747-8i aircraft of the VC-25B. Compared to the robin’s egg blue of the VC-25A, the light blue of the VC-25B has a little deeper, more contemporary tone.
In addition, as opposed to the VC-25A’s robin’s egg blue, the VC-25B engines will employ a darker shade of blue from the cockpit area. Last but not least, the VC-25B lacks a polished metal part since current commercial aircraft skin alloys can not support it.
