As tensions between Ukraine and Russia continue to rise, Lufthansa (LHAB) (LHA) has rescheduled several of its flights to Kyiv Boryspil International Airport (KBP).

According to a Lufthansa (LHAB) (LHA) representative, the flights were rescheduled owing to “operational reasons.” Multiple sources confirmed that the postponement was done to avoid the team spending the night in Ukraine.

The departure time of Lufthansa’s daily flight 1492 from Frankfurt (FRA) has been changed from afternoon to morning. Other flights, including those operated by Lufthansa (LHAB) (LHA) to other parts of the country, are unaffected.

Following a buildup of Russian armed forces along the Ukrainian border, the decision was made.

The United States permitted the immediate departure of family members of its embassy officials from Ukraine on January 24, 2021, while the United Kingdom evacuated some of its embassy personnel from Ukraine on the same day.

Lufthansa (LHAB) (LHA) flies to KBP three times a day, as well as to Lviv (LWO) and Odessa (ODS) (ODS).
