On January 24, 2022, the Brazilian manufacturer announced that Azorra, a Florida-based major corporation, has struck an agreement to buy 20 new Embraer E2 aircraft.
Azorra may purchase either E190 or E195 aircraft under the terms of the agreement, with deliveries beginning in 2023. The transaction, which is worth $3.9 billion at list prices, also includes the option to buy another 30 planes.
“We thank Azorra again for their selection of the E2, after recently completing a sale leaseback transaction with Porter Airlines for five new E195-E2 aircraft,” Arjan Meijer, CEO of Embraer Commercial Aviation, said in the statement.
Azorra, a lessor, already has 21 Embraer aircraft in its fleet.
“This commitment underscores our belief in the E2; a modern aircraft family with superior economics and environmental performance, providing Azorra with a compelling opportunity to build a position of leadership in the markets we serve,” John Evans, Azorra CEO, declared in the statement.
Azorra has had a busy start to the year, has announced plans to order 22 Airbus A220 aircraft on January 10, 2022.
