Three passengers were hurt in what has been called a knife attack at San Francisco International Airport (SFO) on Friday night, and a suspect was apprehended. Amazingly, despite suffering only minor wounds, all three victims continued their journeys.

A spokesperson for the San Francisco Police Department confirmed that an “edged weapon” had been used in the attack. Sources claim a large knife was recovered from the scene.

The SFPD said an “adult male drove a vehicle to the San Francisco International Airport and entered the terminal” at around 6 pm before allegedly attacking three passengers.

After being attacked in the open pre-security section of the international airport, the victims only sustained minor wounds and scrapes. The attack’s motivation is yet unknown.

While a forensic examination was being done, a section of the terminal building was briefly blocked off, but the airport remained open.
