KLM On a lengthy flight between Amsterdam and New York, Royal Dutch Airlines debuted its premium economy class.
On August 31, 2022, flight KL641 from Amsterdam to New York was the first one to use the new class.
The airline’s Boeing 787-10 Dreamliner, registered PH-BKA and sporting “KLM 100 years” livery, was outfitted with the new Premium Comfort.
“Today the first official flight featuring the new Premium Comfort Class took to the skies,” the airline announced on its social media on August 31, 2022. “Our new class caters to the requirements and wishes of business and leisure travelers alike, offering extra comfort and attention from our staff.”

A premium economy option that falls between ordinary economy and business class is KLM Premium Comfort Class. The airline intends to provide it in the future on all of its Boeing 777s and Boeing 787s operating on international routes.
KLM Royal Dutch Airlines anticipates finishing the transformation initiative by January 2024, having begun fitting up its aircraft with the new cabin in the second half of 2022.
According to the airline, the Premium Comfort cabin has between 21 and 28 seats. Among the benefits provided by the new class to passengers include 17 cm greater legroom than in a typical economy cabin, up to 20 cm of seat recline, moveable leg and footrests, in-seat power, and a customized 13-inch entertainment system.
