KLM Due to the significant increase in oil prices that will take effect next Friday, Royal Dutch Airlines will impose a fuel tax on long-haul tickets. Air France, a sister firm, will follow suit.

The cost of travel increases depending on the location and level of travel. For example, the cost of a return journey from Amsterdam to New York will rise by 30 euros in economy class and 100 euros in business class. The price increase is solely for new reservations.

Carriers pay a significant price for fuel. Oil prices have risen to their highest levels in years as a result of the conflict in Ukraine and concerns about delays in Russian oil supplies. The price of kerosene is rising, which is reflected in the rates of KLM and Air France tickets.
