An ATR 72-600 twin-engine turboprop has been delivered to Japanese start-up airline Toki Air.
The aircraft, which has the registration JA01QQ, was leased from Nordic Aviation Capital under a long-term contract and joined the airline on October 10, 2022. The aircraft is now in its fourth year of operation, based on information from Planespotters.com.
The newest regional airline in Japan, Toki Air, plans to begin flights in 2023.

“This first aircraft will allow us to serve our higher purpose by providing a responsible and reliable air connection to the communities of the Niigata Prefecture and surrounding regions. We look forward to seeing Toki flying in the skies of Japan,” Hasegawa concluded.
Before its introduction, the newcomer expects to obtain a second of this kind of aircraft. The 2.3-year-old aircraft, which has the registration JA02QQ, will be added to the airline’s fleet under comparable long-term lease conditions.
There are now 15 ATR turboprops in use throughout the nation. 100 ATR aircraft are predicted to be available in the medium term, according to the company.
When it begins operations, Toki Air will be the fourth airline in Japan to fly ATRs.
