ITA Airways and Air Europa have agreed to a comprehensive codeshare agreement that would connect the two airlines’ networks.

ITA Airways will expand its operations and commercial offer on Spain, the Canary Islands, and the Balearic Islands as a result of this commercial collaboration, which began today, November 8, 2021.

Customers traveling between the two airlines’ hubs in Rome and Madrid will have more options and better flight schedules.

Customers of ITA Airways and Air Europa can now fly to their preferred destination with a single “unique” ticket, check-in at the departure airport, and receive their checked-through luggage at the end of their trip in the arrival airport, thanks to this partnership.

ITA Airways will use the ‘AZ’ code on Air Europa’s trips between Italy and Spain. Similarly, Air Europa will codeshare AZ flights between Barcelona, Madrid, and Rome, as well as select connecting international and Italian domestic services beyond Rome Fiumicino Airport.

From Italy, Marco Finelli reports.
