During a landing at Heraklion Airport in Greece, a Lufthansa Airbus A321neo was hit by a bird.
The Airbus A321-200NX, registered D-AIEF, was flying flight LH-1554 from Frankfurt to Heraklion when it crashed with a bird during landing.
The nose area of the radome was damaged as a result of the bird impact, as seen in footage published on the internet. The plane made a safe landing and was then taken into maintenance. The flight back was canceled.
The Airbus A321neo implicated in the incident was delivered to the airline in December 2020, making it 0.9 years old at the time of the incident.
