On February 9, 2022, an Alliance Air ATR-72 regional turboprop lost its right engine door during taking off from Mumbai’s Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport (BOM).
The Alliance Air ATR-72 turboprop, VT-RKJ, took off without its right engine cover but continued on with flight 9I625.
The aircraft safely arrived at Bhuj Airport (BHJ) in India after a one-and-a-half-hour flight. There were no casualties among the passengers or crew.
The Mumbai Air Traffic Controller (ATC) reported the incident shortly after the airplane took off, according to ANI. The incident has been investigated by the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA).
