Hawaiian Airlines unveiled the Leihk Suites (Business class), a new premium service class, and provided a first look at the interior design of the Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner.

The inside of the airline’s new B787-9 aircraft, which will start operating on a few routes in early 2023, will be designed to represent Hawaii’s natural environment with passionate textures, island-inspired sunrise, and sunset lighting, as well as ocean and wind patterns.

The airline’s newest business class version will have 34 seats. Fully flat seats, an 18-inch in-flight entertainment screen, personal outlets, wireless charging, and direct aisle access are all included in the suites.

The suites, which are arranged 1-2-1 and have doors, provide isolation while allowing couples to share an intimate experience.

The Leihk Suites design was created in collaboration between Hawaiian Airlines and Adient Aerospace, a joint venture between Boeing Company and Adient, a global leader in automobile seats.

“It was evident from the beginning that Hawaiian Airlines is very passionate about its culture and branding, and making sure that this came through in the design language and in the passenger experience,” said Adient Aerospace CEO Tony Guy in a press statement.

“It is so rewarding to bring this vision collaboratively to life and see it realized in the delivered product,” Guy added.
