Eurowings, a Lufthansa (LHAB) (LHA) subsidiary, has acquired its first Airbus A320neo aircraft, marking the first time the type has been used by a German low-cost carrier.
The airline’s existing fleet of 75 Airbus A320 family aircraft will be supplemented by the new Airbus A320neo aircraft, registered as D-AENA.
Airbus’ new Airspace cabin design will be featured on Eurowings’ A320neo plane, which has configurable lighting settings, a quieter cabin, updated sidewall panels, and bins with additional space for cabin luggage.
In traditional two-class seating, the A320neo can accommodate up to 180 passengers. The aircraft has a maximum range of 6,300 kilometers and is powered by LEAP-1A engines from CFM International.
