Ethiopian Airlines, Africa’s top airline and largest aviation group, has announced that thrice-weekly passenger flights to Bengaluru, India, will resume on March 27, 2022.
The airline announced the resumption of service after a two-year hiatus owing to the epidemic. Ethiopian Airlines launched service to Bengaluru in October of this year.
Bengaluru, the capital of the Indian state of Karnataka, is known as the ‘Silicon Valley of India,’ and is a hub for technology and innovation.
“We are happy to have resumed flights to the commercial capital of India,” said Mesfin Tasew, CEO of Ethiopian Airlines Group. “We shall be devoted to servicing our customers with our high-quality services.” Ethiopian Airlines is a major participant in connecting India and Africa, as well as other continents.”
“The recommencement of flights connects the important ICT hub of Bengaluru to the ever-expanding Ethiopian network in addition to our flights to the Capital New Delhi and Mumbai.
The flights will also complement our existing freighter and passenger flight services to other key destinations in India. The addition of Bengaluru to our network is vital in meeting the demands of the fast-growing air travelers between India and Africa,” Mr Tasew added.
Increased flight frequencies and a number of gateways in India, according to Ethiopian Airlines, will enhance trade, investment, and tourism to and from the Indian subcontinent.
The flights to Bengaluru connect customers with short connections through the airline’s global hub in Addis Ababa, and provide the fastest and shortest connections between Bengaluru, India, and more than 60 African locations.
Ethiopian Airlines currently has passenger flights to Mumbai and Delhi, as well as cargo flights to Bangalore, Ahmedabad, Chennai, Mumbai, and New Delhi.
