Emirates will resume passenger service between Dubai and five African countries on January 29 after the UAE relaxed restrictions on flights to 12 African countries imposed in the aftermath of the omicron variant’s discovery.
Ethiopia, Kenya, South Africa, Tanzania, and Zimbabwe have been reintroduced to the airline’s passenger network.
Flights between Dubai (DXB) and Johannesburg (JNB) will operate daily beginning January 29, increasing to twice-daily beginning February 1. From February 1, daily service will be available in Cape Town (CPT) and Durban (DUR).
From January 29, Emirates aims to offer 10X-weekly flights to Nairobi (NBO) in Kenya and 3X-weekly flights to Addis Ababa (ADD) in Ethiopia.
