Today marks the formal resumption of Emirates’ Gatwick service. Flight EK015 arrives at Gatwick at 11:40 a.m., while flight EK016 departs at 13:35 a.m., arriving in Dubai (DXB) at 00:40 a.m. tomorrow (all times local).
The return to Gatwick comes after the airline’s speedy reinstatement of service to London Heathrow, Manchester, Birmingham, Glasgow, and Newcastle airports in recent months in response to passenger demand.
The Gatwick service will be available every day, bringing Emirates’ total number of UK weekly flights to 84. From January 27, 2022, a second daily flight from Gatwick will be available.
Emirates will reopen lounges around the UK in December, including in Birmingham and Manchester. The lounges at Glasgow and Gatwick will reopen in January.
Richard Jewsbury, divisional vice president at Emirates UK commented: “We have continued to see demand for international travel, particularly from the South East, and are pleased to resume operations from Gatwick. The route has also carried billions of pounds worth of cargo into and out of the region – supporting UK businesses of all shapes and sizes.”
