Emirates has increased its Gatwick service to twice-daily, with both the 777 and the A380 serving the airport.

With the addition of the second daily Gatwick route, Emirates now has 91 weekly flights to the United Kingdom.

“We have seen a considerable uptick in demand for international travel in recent weeks, particularly from the South East and are pleased to be expanding our operations from Gatwick,” said Richard Jewsbury, Divisional Vice President, Emirates UK. “Emirates is fully committed to the UK and we have operated flights from the airport for over 30 years, providing vital connectivity to Dubai and across our international network for passengers travelling for business, leisure or to visit loved ones.

The route has also carried billions of pounds worth of cargo into and out of the region – supporting UK businesses of all shapes and sizes.”

Stephanie Wear, VP of Aviation Development, Gatwick Airport, commented: “We were delighted in December with Emirates’ return to Gatwick and this expansion of the service is testament to the success of operations here.

The double-daily flights to Dubai will provide tourists and businesses in the region with access to a fantastic range of locations in Asia, Africa, and beyond.”

Emirates now operates a six-times-day A380 service from London Heathrow, twice-daily A380 flights from Manchester, a ten-weekly service from Birmingham, a daily service from Glasgow, a four-weekly service from Newcastle, and recently a double-daily service from Gatwick.
