Since its first post-pandemic recruiting campaign in August 2021, Emirates has received over 300,000 applications for cabin crew positions.
As travel demand continues to rebound faster than projected, the airline wants to add 6,000 more employees to increase its operational workforce.
A spokesperson for Emirates revealed to The National on April 28, 2022 that the company has already received over 300,000 applications for the cabin crew vacancy. The largest airline in the United Arab Emirates, Emirates, is giving a monthly wage of roughly $2,700. (AED9,770).
The spokesperson also revealed that Emirates Aviation College currently organizes training for around 120 new trainees each week.
“As we focus on recovery and further ramp up our operations, we are accelerating our recruitment drive with the objective to hire roughly 6,000 cabin crew positions during this financial year, from April 2022 to March 2023,” a spokesperson was quoted as saying.
Emirates indicated that it will be adding a number of other people, including pilots, engineering specialists, and ground staff members, while continuing to ramp up operations across its global network, having already recovered around 90% of its network by late October 2021.
Potential candidates must meet the UAE employment visa criteria and will be stationed in the airline’s main hub in Dubai, according to the official Emirates website. Candidates must also have “more than a year of experience in hospitability or customer services” and a high school diploma as a minimum requirement.
Aside from an extensive list of physical requirements, such as a minimum height requirement of 160 centimeters (about 5 feet 3 inches) and the need that applicants have no visible tattoos, a successful applicant must also be able to “handle a demanding work schedule.”
