Condor, a German charter airline, has ordered seven Airbus A330-900s and aims to lease nine more to replace its existing long-haul fleet.

Condor aims to replace their current fleet with Rolls-Royce Trent 7000 engines to run routes across America, Asia, Africa, and the Caribbean.

The airline already has an Airbus A320 fleet and will begin acquiring A330s in 2022.

“By flying the A320 and A330neo side by side, the airline will benefit from all of the commonality economics that these two premium products provide,” said Christian Scherer, Airbus’ Chief Commercial Officer.

Scherer went on to say that Condor’s move would establish a new standard for more sustainable flying.
