According to HeadforPoints.com, Britain’s flag carrier British Airways will reintroduce five of its 12 A380 aircraft into service on November 8, 2021.

As part of the return to service training, the superjumbos will first fly on short-haul European routes from London Heathrow Airport (LHR) to Frankfurt (FRA) and Madrid (MAD). According to the report, they will resume long-distance service on December 3, 2021.

British Airways extended its contract with Lufthansa Technik for its Airbus A380 aircraft base maintenance services on August 4, 2021, signaling that they would return to active service. Lufthansa Technik Philippines in Manila, Philippines, will provide Airbus A380 maintenance services.

British Airways CEO Sean Doyle expressed his confidence in restarting the Airbus A380 operations at the CAPA Live conference on April 14, 2021. “[The Airbus A380] works extremely well for British Airways,” Doyle said.
