According to a Reuters report, Boeing aims to resume 787 Dreamliner deliveries in the second half of 2022.
According to the report, which was published on April 20, 2022, Boeing informed airlines to expect deliveries to resume in the second half of the year, with one source telling Reuters that the third quarter was a likely timetable.
Due to manufacturing concerns, Dreamliner deliveries have been stopped since May 2021. On February 15, 2022, the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) said that it needs final approval on each 787 Dreamliner before it is delivered to consumers.
American Airlines (A1G) (AAL) is one of the carriers waiting for planes, and as a result, has had to adjust its summer timetables. It had previously stated that it planned to get all 13 of its delayed 787-8 planes in 2022, but now only expects to receive ten.
The Reuters report cited a Boeing spokesperson as saying that the FAA would determine when deliveries resume. An FAA spokesperson told Reuters that “safety dictates the timeline”.
