On January 31, 2023, Bonza, Australia’s newest airline, launched its first commercial flight, transporting passengers between Sunshine Coast Airport (MCY) and Proserpine Whitsunday Coast Airport with a Boeing 737 MAX (PPP).

The Australian Civil Aviation Safety Authority (CASA) granted the airline its Air Operator’s Certificate (AOC) on January 12, 2023. The airline’s name is a slang synonym meaning “amazing.” According to statistics from planespotters.net, the airline currently possesses three Boeing 737 MAX aircraft, and six more are on the way.

“Our team of legends couldn’t be more excited to begin connecting Aussies for holidays and time with loved ones. What better place to start than arguably two of the country’s favorite holiday destinations,” said Tim Jordan, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Bonza.
