An interline contract has been signed by Kenya Airways and Virgin Atlantic Airways:

A new interline arrangement between Kenya Airways (KQ) and Virgin Atlantic (VS) will give consumers more convenience.

Kenya Airways will use London to expand its reach in the US, the Caribbean, and Israel under the interline arrangement. Customers of Kenya Airways going to London will be able to connect with flights from Virgin Atlantic to Boston, Washington, Atlanta, Austin, Miami, Orlando, Las Vegas, Seattle, San Francisco, Los Angeles, Antigua, Barbados, The Bahamas, Jamaica, and Grenada.

Additionally, thanks to the arrangement, Virgin Atlantic customers may purchase a ticket to Nairobi and benefit from quick connections to a variety of Kenya Airways locations around Africa, including Tanzania, Uganda, Seychelles, Mauritius, Zambia, Zimbabwe, and Madagascar.

In the past, Kenya Airways (KQ) and South African Airways (SAA) struck a codeshare arrangement that expands the number of places passengers can travel without interruption.

The code-sharing arrangement will allow one airline to sell flights operated by the other, such as Kenya Airways or South African Airways, under its own code when demand for air travel increases. Customers of SAA will still be able to accumulate Voyager Miles on these new codeshare flights.

Travelers can combine flight segments and baggage on a single ticket thanks to the agreement.

While KQ passengers will have more alternatives for travel into Southern Africa, including Cape Town, Durban, and Harare right away, travelers departing South Africa will have more options for travel to African destinations, including Nairobi, Dar es Salaam, Entebbe, Mombasa, and Kisumu.

In order to give tourists more options inside Africa, the alliance will expand to include Zanzibar, Kilimanjaro, Juba, Douala, Lusaka, Ghana, and Nigeria, subject to government approval.
