On June 18, Air Canada launched its first nonstop service between Montreal and Cairo, catering to the large Egyptian community in Montreal and across North America, as well as giving an extra gateway to Africa.

Air Canada is happy to announce the launch of its first regular flights to Egypt. We’re upgrading our international network strategically by introducing new routes that promote leisure travel and visits to friends and family. We see chances to introduce additional non-stop flights to Cairo from Montreal, where there is an established Egyptian community, because there are few non-stop choices to Egypt from North America.

At our Montreal hub, we’ve also developed efficient connections to and from our Cairo flights from all throughout Canada and the United States. This new route demonstrates our commitment to rebuilding our international network and Montreal hub, both of which were severely impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic,” said Mark Galardo, Senior Vice President, Network Planning and Revenue Management.

Air Canada is flying a 255-seat Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner three times a week, with three different cabins of service: Air Canada Signature Class, Premium Economy, and Economy.
