On May 29, 2022, a Tara Air De Havilland Canada DHC-6/300 Twin Otter plane went lost in a hilly area of Nepal. The plane is reported to be carrying 22 passengers and three crew members.
According to Flightradar24.com, the aircraft, registered as 9N-AET, took off from Pokhara Airport (PKR) at 9:53 a.m. The plane was headed for Jomson Airport (JMO). It lost touch with the airport tower around 10:07 a.m., according to Nepal’s aviation authority. Two helicopters were dispatched to track down the plane.
The incident was also confirmed by the airline. “A domestic flight bound for Jomsom from Pokhara has lost contact,” a Tara Air spokesperson told the AFP news agency.
According to Himal Press, the plane was discovered in the Mustang district’s Larjung area.
