According to a stock exchange report dated July 1, 2022, China Eastern Airlines (CIAH) (CEA) has inked a contract for 100 Airbus A320neo aircraft valued at $13 billion.
Between 2024 and 2027, the new airplanes will be delivered in phases.
The Airbus A320neos will, according to the business, be used to upgrade existing aircraft and expand capacity.
According to data from Planespotters.net, China Eastern currently has 598 aircraft in its fleet, with an average age of 8.4 years.
The announcement comes just after China Southern, the nation’s largest airline by fleet size, revealed a purchase of 96 Airbus A320neo aircraft.
